Dr. Jonathan Keir
Dr. Jonathan Keir studied Philosophy and Comparative Literature at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, before pursuing postgraduate studies in the humanities as part of the European Union’s Erasmus Mundus programme.
After successfully completing his doctoral dissertation, titled “Warriors for Civilisation: Naguib Mahfouz, Andrei Tarkovsky, Tu Weiming and their Western Counterparts”, Dr. Keir came to the Weltethos-Institut (Global Ethic Institute) in 2014 to continue his research. He is currently examining the possibility of uniting Hans Küng’s Global Ethic Project with Confucian and Islamic models of intercultural dialogue under the banner of an “Ethics for Everyone”.
At the Weltethos-Institut (Global Ethic Institute), Dr. Keir teaches courses on the role of the global humanities in furthering the Global Ethic agenda.
